• Income tax payment challan matter

Hi-
I have 2 questions.

1> 
 If I pay  all Income tax amount  in BASIC TAX field   ..without distributing the amount among  
Basic Tax , Surcharge , Edu cess , interest , penalty  etc.( wherever applicable )
 Is there any penalty  or any problem may arise ?

2>  For GST refund ( IGST PAID on Export of "SERVICE" ) do I need to submit  CA certificate and BANK statement also ?

1. if you pay your total income tax under basic tax field then no issue raise by department , department will adjust this amount with interest cess etc.

There should not be any issue. Till the time the total tax paid covers all the components, it should be fine.

Hi

1. No penalties. Tax can be deposited totally in basic tax field.

2. The officer may ask for bank FIRC copies. Please maintain all the documents.

Dear Sir,

1) There is no problem if you do not distribute the amount into basic tax, interest and penalty in the income tax challan. You can show the entire amount into basic tax. The only thing material is amount should not be less than payable.

2) Yes you need CA certificate and copies of FIRC. It is advisable to retain and carry the bank statements to avoid delays.
