Hi,
The government has launched a one-time scheme to waive late fee for delayed furnishing of filing the goods and services tax (GST) return-1 form for the period July 2017 to September 2018, to encourage taxpayers to furnish the returns.
Late fees for GSTR-1 is Rs.50 per day up to maximum of 10,000. Till date late fees would be Rs. 2,300 for GSTR-1 for each quarter. Total would be Rs. 4600.
Hi
Yes, late fees for GSTR1 is Rs. 50 per day. (Rs. 20 per day in case of NIL returns).
If the GSTR1 was filed up to 31st Oct 2018, the late fees was waived off.
The due dates for GSTR1 till Sep 18 were extended up to 31st Oct 2018.The late fees shall be calculated from 1st Nov till the date of filing. It would be 50/20 per day.
Dear Sir,
Late fees will be applicable if you file your GSTR 1 after due date...
1). Rs 50 per day if there is any Tax Liability payable.
2) Rs 20 per day in case of NIL Return.
GSTR 1 is prescribed under section 47.
Returns for period july 17 to Sep 18has been extended till oct 18. after that late fees will be levied. So late fees in your case will be levied from revised due date of filing return.
& late fees will be as per section 47, it says late fees of Rs 25/head per day. max Rs 5000/head.
Right now there are no provisions for late filing fees as such as government is just extending the dates and waiving off the late fee. However who knows if they bring some retrospective amendment and charge late fees so it's better to file the returns correctly.
