So you are saying that the notice has been received on the old PAN number which has been cancelled?

So first get your PAN number changed with the company and since it's a penalty notice you need to go to your assessing officer who has issued this notice with the form 16 of your company your ITR, copy of your PAN Card, PAN cancellation application if available and explain the AO that you have filed your ITR properly and explain him the entire scenario and ask him to drop the penalty proceedings.

Hope you find the information helpful if you do please rate it 5 and provide your valuable feedback for my improvement.

Thank you

Hi,

Hope you are doing well !!

The best option in this case would be to visit the Income Tax Office and meet income tax officer.

Tell him the details, give him an application in writing and take a receiving on the photocopy of the application for the same.

It seems that the TDS credit is shown inn your old PAN and you have been filing return under new PAN.

You will have to inform the tax officer the facts of your case and the facts that the taxes are deducted on old PAN. Hence, the necessary taxes are paid by you.  Also, you should mention that your is a salary income and hence taxes are deducted by employer from time to time.

Is this an online notice ? then please submit the response by logging into your portal.  If this is manual, please visit the officer and explain him the matter with documents.  Also, draft a letter to be submitted to the officer.  I would be glad to further discuss over a call and draft suitable response, in case you need any assistance.
