• Buying car in India

Hi,

I am holding an NRI account. I am planning to buy a car in India (worth 10.5 Lakhs) full payment upfront. I will be giving cheque from my NRI account, will this invite any tax notice ?

Hi

No, there is no tax implication on such purchase. However, you should possess proofs for showing such funds as income/receipts from genuine sources.

Hi,

Hope you are doing well !!

No, there will be on tax implications on the same provided you have enough proof to explain source of income.

No this won't attract any tax but the seller of vehicle might collect TCS from you and since you won't be having any income in India you should file to income tax return to atleast claim refund of such TCS collected by seller.

Hope you find the information helpful if you do please rate it 5 and provide your valuable feedback for my improvement.

Thank you

Yes. To avoid it you must file ITR in India and proove the source of income of 10.5 lacs.

Probability is less for income tax notice.. but the seller will collect TCS on such sale and you must file inocme tax return to just claim the refund.. so that you will be full proofed against notice and can get your refund too...

But in nutshell no worry...

Hi

Only TCS deduction @ 1% will be there from sellers part. Else No tax implication will be there.

Hope it helps
