• Error 311 defective return

I have filed return with all entries as zero in part B of the Balance sheet ( no account case under 44ADA professional income). Profit and loss ( part B) is filled with Gross/net income of 447000 Expenditure 223850 and profit 223850 (50%).
Is it necessary to show some cash on hand. If so is it the Bank balance or physical cash and how to calculate it as I have income under other heads such as Salary/ Capital Gain/Other income ?
Asked 6 years ago in Income Tax

since you are filing income under presumptive taxation then why have to filled even zero in balance sheet and profit and loss you should have filled figures in presumptive income section where they for four figures in profit and loss account and 4 figures in balance sheet.

In cash and bank balance you have to fill combined figure of cash in hand and your total bank balance as on 31.3.19 of all your bank accounts.

Hope you find the information helpful if you do please rate it 5 and provide your valuable feedback for my improvement.

Thank you

Hi

Firstly, please match the figures. With 447000 of gross receipts, 50% should be 223500. I hope it was s typo.

Ideally the cash balance should not be zero as you will have some cash for the business expenses. It should only be cash balance and not the bank balance.

Further, we may only be able to comment once we review your ITR and notice.
