Hi, Can I invest in ELSS Funds today (March 30, Saturday) to avail exemption under section 80C for this FY. As today and tomorrow are holidays, the units will be allotted only on Monday, but I would have invested the amount today. Could you please let me know if we can still avail exemptions in this case. Thanks.
Since you had made the payment on 30th you can claim such deduction.
There could be a query raised but you can show your bank statement that you had made the payment in time and therefore you are eligible for such deduction.

It's a litigative position. There is no clarification issued by cbdt in this regard.
However, in my opinion, you can claim the benefit as these provisions are always read in favour of the Assessee. You can show email acknowledgement which you will receive today as a proof of investment.
