Apart from GST, they will also have to pay income tax on the profit derived from YouTube activity. Youtubers may fall within the ambit of section 44ADA whereby they need to pay income tax only on 50% of their gross revenue
Which income tax slab applicable for a Youtuber? (Individual & business)
Income tax slabs shall be according to the PAN under which you are doing business. If you're working as a sole proprietor with your PAN, income tax slabs shall be-
2.5 - 5 Lacs - 5%
5 - 10 lacL - 20%
Above 10 Lacs - 30%
If you are earning the income only from YouTube no need to register for GST and you need to pay income tax as per normal tax slab applicable to normal individual and we will show your income from YouTube as income from business and profession. However many youtuber also earn income from commission so if that's the case then you need to register for GST all these would depend on turnover and income.

Everyone whose taxable turnover exceeds 20 lakhs needs to obtain GST registration .
So, you are not required to register for GST unless your taxable turnover exceeds 20 lakhs
You have two options:
1. Opt the presumptive taxation scheme and pay the taxes on only 50% of your receipts.
2. Pay the taxes as per normal provision.
Income tax slab as same as applicable to individual.

- Yes, youtubers may fall under both direct and Indirect tax regimes.
- Applicability of different tax laws shall depend upon the turnover limit achieved during a financial year.
- Unless you are registered as a partnership firm or a private limited company, tax slab rates shall remain same as the ones applicable to individuals.
