• Do I need to register for GST

I have a blog (which is not a registered business, its just a small blog). I have monetized the blog with advertisements which are served by Ezoic, which is a company based in US. I started monetizing the blog in March 2019. I read through multiple posts online on whether I have to register for GST in this case or not and all the posts on this are conflicting and do not provide clear information. Do I have to register for GST? Since Ezoic is based in US, I receive international payments on PayPal. My earning from the blog is approximately 8000 INR a month.

No sir you don't have to register for GST if this is your only income since it is covered under service and you need to register under service only when your total turnover exceeds ₹20 lakh.

Hope you find the information helpful if you do please rate it 5 and provide your valuable feedback for my improvement.

Thank you

- Do you get payment in foreign exchange?. If yes then it would be treated as export of services and threshold limit for GST registration is Rs.20 lacs.

Dear Sir,

Hope you are doing well !!

You are required to get GST registration only if your turnover/receipts crosses the limit of  Rs 20 lakh.

Hello,

If you are receiving foreign currency in consideration, it would be termed as Export of services under GST.

And you would be liable for registration under GST on exceeding the limit of Rs. 20 Lakhs.

I hope this answer satisfies your requirement.

Frankly speaking, the law is not very clear on this matter.  However, as you are rendering services abroad, you should mandatory seek GST registration.

Hello Sir,

GST registration mandatory only if your turnover (including export of services) exceeds the threshold limit of Rs 20 lakhs.

The new limit of Rs 40 lakh is not applicable to service providers.

Hi

No. As of now, you don't need to register under GST.

You need a GST registration only once your turnover exceeds Rs. 20 lacs.
