• PTRC payment

Dear Sir/ Madam,
With respect to PTRC payment for Maharashtra, we would like to know whether the PT liability amt should be based on the Gross salary or the actual payment made to the employee.
Eg: If the Gross Salary of an employee is 30K but he comes just for 1 day in a month...So
1) PT Liability would be Rs.200 based on his gross salary
 OR
2) PT Liability would be Rs.0 as the salary amt paid is just Rs.1000 (after considering his no.s of working days)

Kindly guide on this with reason

Dear Sir,

It is based on monthly payment.

If monthly payment is above the limit then it should be deducted as per PT slab rate.

If the salary paid to a person during a month is above the limit then you need to deposit Professional tax.

Hope you find the information helpful if you do please rate it 5 and provide your valuable feedback for my improvement.

Thank you.

Hello,

PT is on payment basis. On the salary paid and not on the gross or basic salary.

I hope this answer satisfies your requirement.
