• Income Tax Return (ITR-4) not processed yet

Hi,

I am a freelancer. I have filed ITR-4 on 20 Aug 2019. It has been more than 3 months, but my ITR is not processed yet. The status is 'Successfully e-Verified'. Also, there isn't any item in worklist yet.

Please guide me if there is any way to expedite processing. Does grievance help on such matter? How long should I wait to get it processed?

Thanks!

Hello,

There is no fixed period for the processing of income tax returns.

By e-verifying the return, you have completed the procedure of submission of your return. Now there is no further action to be taken by you.

There is no procedure to get your return processed fast.

I hope that this answer satisfies your requirements.

Dear Sir,

Here is my reply to your query:

As per the income tax act there is no such time limit to process the income tax return but in case the return is not processed with in 120 days of filing the return then you will receive interest on the amount of refund if any.

But if you still wants to expedite the process then you can report the matter in the "E-Grievances" after login on the income tax portal https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/

Thanks and Regards

Generally it gets processed but many a times it takes more time. For our own clients also we are facing this in current year. So it is all around the corner and not just restricted to you.
