Hi

You need not need a GST registration just on starting business. You only need to register once your turnover crosses the threshold.

However if you're making any supplies outsiders Uttar Pradesh, GST registration would be mandatory.

It depends on what type business you are starting.

You just need compulsory registration if you are going to sell goods inter state i.e. sell goods online.

In every other scenario you need to register only if you cross the threshold limit i.e. 20 lakh for service and 40 lakh for goods.

Hope you find the information helpful if you do please rate it 5 and provide your valuable feedback for my improvement.

Thank you.

Hello,

GST registration would be mandatory only if you are making inter-state supplies (i.e. outside Uttar Pradesh)

Otherwise, GST registration would be required if you cross the threshold limit for registration.

I hope this answer satisfies your requirements.

Dear Sir,

Hope you are doing well !!

You will be liable to obtain GST once the turnover crosses the threshold limit of Rs. 20 lacs.

However, GST registration would be mandatory for inter-state sales.

Hi,

No GST registration is not mandatory.  You can take the GST registration in the mid of the year when you realise that you have crossed the limit of turnover.

Thanks

Dear Sir,

GST is mandatory for the following persons:

  • Individuals registered under the Pre-GST law (i.e., Excise, VAT, Service Tax etc.)
  • Businesses with turnover above the threshold limit of Rs. 40 Lakhs in case of supply of Goods and 20 Lakhs in case of supply of services.
  • Casual Taxable Person / Non Resident Taxable Person
  • Agents of a supplier & Input service distributor
  • Those paying tax under the reverse charge mechanism
  • Person who supplies via e-commerce aggregator
  • Every e-commerce aggregator
  • Person supplying online information and database access or retrieval services from a place outside India to a person in India, other than a registered taxable person

In case you deals in supply of goods then registration is mandatory once you reach the threshold limit of Rs. 40 Lakhs and in case you deals in supply of services then registration is mandatory in case you reach the threshold limit of Rs. 20 lakhs.

Thanks and Regards
