• ITR filing

Actually I filled up ITR for AY 2017-18. After that, I was pursuing a PhD, hence, didn't earn and didn't fill in ITR. Now again I have joined a job and would like to fill in ITR. I would like to know do I still need to fill the intermediate(missing) ITR or can I just fill in the current AY ITR. I would like assistance in filling the ITR as well. Actually, am planning to apply for a personal loan, and I would be required ITR for loan application.

Hi

If you had no income in the intermediate years, ITR filing was not mandatory. You can file current year's ITR.

However, for personal loan purposes, bank may ask for previous 3 years of ITR copies. If that is the case, you may file ITR for FY 18-19 and FY 19-20 still.

We may assist you with the same.

Hello,

Currently, you can file an income tax return for A.Y. 2019-20 and A.Y. 2020-21 only. Since you want to apply for a loan, it would be advisable to file returns for both years.

I hope this answer satisfies your requirements. For proper preparation and filing of the income tax return, you can contact us directly or take a phone consultation.

Hi

Yes While applying for any loan like a home loan or a car loan, lenders usually demand 3 Income Tax Return (ITR). You can only apply for 2 ITR at one time. ... However, it is mandatory that every lender will ask for 3 ITR.

Yes we assist you in filling.

I'm a certified tax practitioner from Hyderabad as well.

Since you did not earn any income in the intermediate years, you do not have to file any ITR for the same. You can directly file it for the current year.

In case you need assistance with filing the return, kindly contact me. I will be happy to assist you further,

Dear Sir,

Yes, you can proceed with the current Year ITR, as the last date for the previous ITR has already gone. You can file the belated ITR only upto the completion of Relevant Assessment Year.

Thanks and Regards

- As of now you can file ITR for only one year i.e. A.Y. 2020-21.  On the basis of one ITR and last six months bank statement, you can apply for the loan.

If your income was not more than 2.5 lacs ITR filing is not mandatory. You can file ITR for Current Year. But since you have to apply for loan they ask for ITR for 3 years. And the time limit for filing ITR for AY 2018-19 has lapsed. ITR for 2019-20 can be filed upto 30th Sep 2020.

You can contact me for filing ITR. We are Chartered Accountants with 37 years of experience.
