• E compliance portal form 26QB query

Good day,
Sir i have purchased flat in January 2019 for inr 14692000 (1 crore 46 lakhs)
at that time payment of INR 10892649 was done in financial year 2018-19
as it is an underconstruction property and slab wise payment was done

stamp duty 6 percent paid on inr 14692000.
tds paid by builder is 1 percent which is 108926 inr for fy 2018-19

my question to you is
1) in e compliance portal Payment made in respect of transfer of immovable property (TDS Form 26QB, Section 194IA)-10892649 IS DISPLAYED 10892649

''SHALL I EDIT RESPONSE AS AS 108926'' ???? (AS TDS IS 1 PERCENT)

2) Purchase of immovable property (SFT-012)-7346000 is displayed 7346000

''SHALL I EDIT THE RESPONSE AS 14692000'' value of flat
AS I DONT KNOW HOW THEY GOT THIS VALUE 7346000 may be typo error

3) is it necessary to file itr returns if i am Inside india less than 182 days in Financial year and there is no other source of Income in india

You cannot edit this SFT response. They have picked this up from your Form 26QB and information from sub registrar who register details of sale of property.

You are not required to file return if you don't have any income in India and you are a non resident.

Hope you find the information helpful if you do please rate it 5 and provide your valuable feedback for my improvement.

Thank you.

Hi,

1. You dont need to edit the response. It will show the payment amount and not the tds amount.

2. It seems that you have bought the property in joint name because the amount reported under your name is exactly half. Is that the case?

3. No its not mandatory to file the return but ots always advisable because it helps in visa, home loan etc.

You should file the return because if you have no other taxable income you can claim refund for the TDS deducted.
