• Unable to proceed with IT's rectification activity online

after processing of my return at cpc under sec143(1), i was served with a notice under sec 143(1a)& sec 154 & sec 245 demanding Rs.9450/- for deposition along with the order under sec 143(1). as a matter of fact , my return was submitted through h&r block online by myself where a portion of income was shown as whole tds instead of adv.tax & tds by bank. the total tax of Rs.9449/- credited with ITD in my name. Virtually there is no tax due . owing to a mistake in the return they are claiming addl. demand. although the notice asked me for rectification but failed even afterputting comm.ref.
the 26as,pan base, etc also cofirms deposition of tax & nil liability. i had lodged acomplain with efiling directorate as cpcitd & h&rblock on 11082016 .they have directed me to wait. if i cannot rectify the return then i may be allowed to revise return under sec139(5) probably. please advise what to do.

Hi,

dont worry,

section 143(1a) is just claim for outstanding demand and section 245 is for adjusting any refund with the outstanding demand.

i need few details-

this demand is related to which year.

you need to check by login to IT site and pending action from your site there you can upload return under section 143 (1)

Revise return cannot be filed now. Need to do Rectification only U/s. 154 and delete the demand. If CPC cannot do then the case will be transferred to your concerned jurisdictional officer where you can rectify the same.

Dear Sir,

You can co-ordinate with the help desk and send them an email. The return gets rectified if you have filed rectification u/s 154. but takes its own due course.

Trust this clarifies your query.

Feel free to call / get back in case of further clarifications.

Thanking You.
