• Rectification/correction in form 15CA and 15CB

I recently filed for Form 15CA & CB and send those document to my bank for repatriation. On reviewing the documents the bank asked for some correction in both form 15CA & 15CB.
Can I make correction in both forms? Should I file new 15CA/CB? What happens to the old forms which I filed? Will filing twice cause an issue? Wanted to know what is the way out of this?

Hi

You can file fresh forms.

Old form 15CA can be withdrawn within 7 days of filing.

No issues as it can always be explained why two forms were filed.

- Form 15CB can not be withdrawn directly. The issuing CA should cancel UDIN generated for issue of Form 15CB which will make it ineffective. Form 15CA can be withdrawn directly from income tax portal.

- Make corrections in new forms and before filing share draft with the bank for review.  Yes you have to cancel old forms if correction is required.

No issue you can still cancel Form 15CB and Form 15CA is issued on the basis of Form 15CB which in itself would become ineffective after revoking UDIN of Form 15CB. Mention specific reason while revoking UDIN for Form 15CB.

You will have to file new forms only no option for that.

You can withdraw 15CA but there is no option for 15CB.

This won't have any adverse effect.

Hope you find the information helpful if you do please rate it 5 and provide your valuable feedback for my improvement.

You can even book phone consultation.

Ok. Then revocation is not an option. File the new forms and ask your CA to revoke the UDIN of previous form 15CB quoting appropriate reason.

Hi

No you  can't make any corrections. No revision is possible for the filing of 15CA form. You need to file the fresh Form 15CA in case any mistake occur in filing. There will not be any problem in that.

Dear Sir,

Hope you are doing well !!

You just need to file new forms.

However, In case Form 15CA is withdrawn against which Form 15CB was consumed, then the status of Form 15CB will be reversed from Consumed to Withdrawn.

We may assist you in entire procedure.

You can discard the first set of documents and file 15CA and CB again. There is no scope for rectification. As 15CB needs to be signed by the CA, you may request the CA to revoke the UDIN mentioned in the certificate. UDIN is Unique Document Identification Number to be generated by a practicing CA while issuing certificate or within 15 days from the date of issue of such certificate.
