• E-verification issues with OCI's ITR

Hi, I am an Oversea's Citizen of India (OCI) trying to file Income tax return in India. I have filed the ITR, however I am unable to e-verify it through my NRI bank account. That's because my NRI account has my registered Australian mobile number, however looks like ITR's new website does not accept international numbers. So I am now stuck not knowing how else can I get my e-verification check done.

Being an OCI, I do not have an Aadhar card.

What is the normal process for an OCI to e-verify is ITR, when he does not have Aadhar card and his NRI account has international number registered.

Any assistance on this regard would be of great help. I have spoken to Income tax department and my bank (HDFC). Both have no clue.

You can verify through net banking. Also if there is refund then bank account would not be validated using Australian number.

Hi

Modes of verification other than aadhaar authentication could be through:

  1. Net banking
  2. Bank account number (account needs to be validated first)
  3. Demat account

If any of these aren't working for you, it's advisable that you send a signed copy of ITR V at the CPC address mentioned therein.

Do have net banking facility? If yes you can use that to verify your Income tax return

Also, one more option is to e-verify it by sending a signed copy to CPC bangalore.

Hope you find the above information helpful if yes you can rate it 5 and provide your valuable feedback for my improvement.

Thank you.
