• How should NRI fill 15G while filing for PF withdrawal

I was working in India until 2014 and moved to US in 2014 October. I left the organization in 2022, but my PF contributions stopped deducting from salary soon after I moved to US.

Now only I was able to request for PF withdrawal upon confirmation from Organization since I’m no longer with that Firm

While submitting the PF Withdrawal , I was asked to submit form 15G

Could someone help in detail how to fill up and submit form 15G to PF office.

Whether income tax will be deducted on entire sum of pf withdrawal? If so, @ what rate/%

Note :
1. I have not filed any IT RETURNS after Financial year 2014-2015 ( Assessment YEAR 2015-2016) since left to US
2. my bank accounts have not been changed to NRI status

PF withdrawal are not taxable if withdrawn after 5 years of continuous employment. If it is withdrawn before the 5 years and if withdrawal is more than Rs.50,000 - it is taxable and TDS would be at 10%.

If the amount of total income including withdrawal from PF does not exceeds maximum amount not chargeable to tax then on furnishing Form 15G, TDS will not be deducted.
