As you had already opted for the old tax regime in FY 2023–24 by filing Form 10-IEA, you do not need to file it again for FY 2024–25.
However, since you have accidentally filed it again, this second filing may be treated as a withdrawal from the old regime—only if you have business or professional income.
-
If you do not have business income, no issue — you can still choose the old regime while filing your ITR.
-
If you do have business income, you may now be locked into the new regime, and reversal is generally not allowed.
As your return is not yet filed, you may try raising a grievance on the e-filing portal or contact your Assessing Officer to explain the accidental filing.
Please let me know your income type so I can advise you further.
