Confused about income tax

Ask him for tax paid challan.If he doesnt gove, login into your account and see if there is any demand outstanding. That can be an indicator.

You have to access your pan on income tax website and look for demand and refund status.

please check the Form 26AS for each of the Assessment year . This gives full data of the tax paid . You can do the login yourself or create a login ID .

If you have filed the returns manually, you can ask for the acknowledgements duly stamped by the IT Dept.

If you have the returns electronically, you can ask for ITR V, which are the acknowledgments.

In both cases, your tax liability and tax paid will be disclosed.

Normally, a CA is bound to give the acknowledgements and tax returns to the clients.

If you are efiling, then you can check the status by logging into IT Department efiling portal at https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/

If you are not having password, you can reset the password by giving the details as required therein.

You can approach the local Income tax Office for the same for clarity.

If you have copies of your income tax returns, you can check the details of the tax paid by you. You can also check the details of tax payment on Form 26AS. It is available on www.incometaxefiling.gov.in

You have to log-in appropriately and check the details.
