• VAT on Raw Material - Products Exported

Hello,

Could you please advise if it is possible to reclaim the VAT paid on inputs/materials used in manufacturing products which will be exported?
According the the following site it is possible:
http://www.vatlive.com/country-guides/asia/india/

but i am not sure.

Your advise would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Hello Amitabh,

Yes, you can very well claim the VAT paid as an input credit if it is used for the production of goods even if it is exported. If the amount is not adjusted at the year end then you can claim it as a refund.

Hello Amitabh,

Theoretically yes, you claim the credit as Refund. But when it comes to practicality there is always a cost involved while taking a refund from the government authorities. You should take that into consideration.
