Sir,
As per GST provision ecommerce operators have to mandatorily take registration of GST irrespective of turnover.
I own an e-commerce website and planning to invite sellers. I have gst.Is it mandatory to collect gst from sellers for them to sell in my portal. Because some sellers may not have a huge turnover, what in case if they don't have gst?
Sir,
As per GST provision ecommerce operators have to mandatorily take registration of GST irrespective of turnover.
Dear Sir,
A persons who supply goods and/or services, other than certain services as may be prescribed, through electronic commerce operator, has to take registration under GST irrespective of the threshold specified.
Further, e-commerce operator has a liability to charge TCS from the seller.
Please feel free to call/ revert in case of any doubts
Thanks and Regards

Hii
There are many scenarios under which ecommerce business run
1 if you purchase from seller and sell via ecommerce then they are not required for gst registration
2 if they directly bill to customer using ur platform then they must required gst even if there aggregate turnover is below 20/10 lakhs
And you have to deduct TCS from his payment and also required to fill gst return and inform govt to about each dealer sells through your platform
Let me be more clear, For few aggregators like Amazon, flipkart, gst is mandatory for sellers to sell on their portal. But there are few more e-commerce Aggregators, they don't ask for tin or gst from sellers. But sellers are allowed to sell on their portal and are charged service tax and the aggregator commission. So if iam an e-commerce Aggregator like Amazon, do i have to take tin/gst from sellers who register on my portal. Please give me a clear answer.
this type of practice no more after GST, in GST proposed scenarios are
1 aggregator have to pay GST such as OLA, Ubber Model
2 aggregator have to pay GST ( Purchase from Supplier and sale online)
3 aggregator have to pay TCS if bills are issuing in the name of customer directly but payment are collected by aggregator.
in GST regime almost all transactions covered under GST
Hello Sir,
GST registrations are still not live. I am amazed as to how did you get register under GST and have also started charging the same.
I assume you are talking about VAT/ Service Tax ?
Yes Rohit, perfect, i have my vat/cst. But as an aggregator i agree i have to pay tax to government, but now some sellers may not have vat/cst, can they sell on my portal, where in i collect only service tax from them. Is it mandatory for them to have vat/cst to sell on my portal. Should i collect it from them while registering with our portal.
