1 if you are receiving HRA then via house rent you can save tax , upto Rs. 1 lakh yearly rent generally no document require as proof above Rs. 1 lakh PAN card of Land lord is must ,

2 as a proof if you submit rent receipts then its sufficient

Hi,

It depends upon the fact that how your rent agreement is prepared. If rent agreement says that you will pay rent monthly, then you should produce the rent receipt monthly.

Please feel free to call/ revert in case you need more clarity.

Thanks and regards

Please note that you will have to take at least rent agreement from your owner. Rent receipts may not be needed if you are paying rent through bank as per the agreement.

Hello,

You have to give monthly rent receipts. In case that is not possible then you can show your rent agreement as a proof.

Hello,

How can he not give you a copy of the rental agreement since it is your right to have one. You can ask him to come take the rent only when he provides you a copy of the agreement. Obviously he will not give you the original.

Hi

For claiming HRA from your company, you would need to show rent agreement or rent receipts from the owner. Whether monthly or annually would depend on the rent agreement.

As a general practice, tenant should have copy of the rent agreement.

You would not require rent receipts if the rent is paid through cheque.

Hi,

Yes, rent agreement is sufficient in absence of rent receipts.

It is your right to have a copy of the rent agreement.

Trust the above clarifies.
