• Income tax demand notification

Hi,

I have received an income tax demand notification for Rs 26,000. The issue is that the 30 day timeline to file a response has already passed. Can you please advise how can I file a delayed response now? I intend to wholly reject the demand notification and provide the required details, which the system is not letting me do now.

Hi,

You have time up to four years to apply for Rectification (Provided the mistake is apparent from the record).

Request you send the Intimation u/s 143(1) to my Email ID pradeep@capradeepbhat.com

If the mistake is such that it can be rectified u/s 154, then first you can apply for rectification and then wholly reject the Demand by Responding to Outstanding Tax Demand in your IT Website Login

Hello Sir,

You may contact the customer care CPC or may also pay a visit to your Assessing Officer in Pune. He may be in a position to accept your condonation.

Do also carry the proof as to why you disagree with the demand raised by the Department.

Trust this clarifies your query.

Feel free to call / get back in case of further clarifications.

Thanking You.

You can file the response notice . No problem if the time has elapsed. It will consider.

You cannot reject the demand as you need to approach the local income tax officer and get the same sorted out. Directly in CPC they will not do that.
