I am not aware about any such form. You just need to show property sale in your return of income.
I am in the process of completing sale of my flat in Mumbai. I was informed that I need to file Form 37E to Income Tax informing them of the sale. Is that correct? If yes, whether seller or buyer has to file the form? Where can I get the form?

Dear Abhishek Dugar - You colleague on this forum stated that instead of Form 37E I need to fill Form 37I when making sale of a flat. Now I am more confused than before...

IN CASE OF PRIVATE TRANSACTION NO NEED................AS YOU ARE TALKING OF 37E I ASSUMED THAT TRANSACTION IS BETWEEN YOU AND CG ...............DON'T BE CONFUSED.......WE ARE ALWAYS HERE TO HELP YOU OUT
Sorry Sir,
I still believe there is no such requirement for sale of property. There may be some special cases where such a form will be needed but in general there is no such requirement.
Please feel free to call/ revert in case you need more clarity
Thanks and regards

Hello,
No such form is to be filed when the transaction is between two individuals. You just have to file your Income Tax returns next year, show the amount of capital gains, pay due tax over it if applicable and you are done.
Trust this clarifies your query.
Feel free to call / get back in case of further clarifications.
Thanking You.

Hi
You have been advised to file Form 37-I. This form is available online on the website www.incometaxindia.gov.in. It has to be signed by both the seller and buyer.

Hi,
Section 269RR has been in inserted in Chapter XX-A - Acquisition of Immovable Properties in certain cases of Transfer to Counteract Evasion of Tax saying that the Chapter shall not be effective for sale of immovable properties w.e.f 30-Sep-1986. When the entire Chapter XX-A is not effective, all Forms notified under the Chapter are also withdrawn automatically.
So, since the Form 37E (This was replaced by 37EE) is not effective at all, the question of providing the same doesn't arise at all!
